SAHRSA Rules Update for 2025 season
2025 Season Rule Updates Now Available!
The South African Hunting Rifle Shooting Association (SAHRSA) has released the updated rules for the 2025 season. Key highlights include:
- Competitions Now Over Known Distances: All events now feature known target distances, replacing the previous system of estimating ranges.
- Equipment Enhancements:
- Optical equipment with electronic enhancements is now allowed.
- Wind measuring devices remain prohibited.
- Distance Adjustments:
- Open Class: Maximum distance increased from 350m to 400m.
- 223 Class: Maximum distance reduced from 300m to 250m.
- .22 Rimfire Class: Maximum distance set at 150m.
- 223 Class Specifics: Electronic optical scopes remain disallowed.. 223 Class Scopes magnification unlimited and the elevation/windage using holdover and no turret adjustment.
- Introduction of .22 Rimfire Class:
- Tailored for standard .22 rimfire rifles and PCPs, with flexible equipment rules.
